Baker & Joy provide a range of advocacy services designed for the needs of vulnerable adult users of social care services. We work with people who need assistance and support to understand their options and assert their views on the services that are available to them, or that they are currently receiving from health and social care. Our services ensure that vulnerable adults have the information and resources to positively contribute to the important decisions made about their care. |
Our services provide representation for vulnerable people who, due to their capacity, circumstances, health or age require support to voice their opinions and ensure their wishes are respected. They are specifically developed for:
• People with learning difficulties • People with mental health conditions • People with physical disabilities • The elderly • People who are caring for any of the above Our Adult Advocacy services include:
• Advocacy for elderly, learning disabled and vulnerable adults • Needs assessment & review • IMHA & IMCA advocacy • Adult safeguarding • Information provision & signposting • Complaints We are a completely independent organisation with in-depth experience of successfully advocating for people with the most challenging conditions. We have advocates that are both Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) and Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) qualified. We are able to provide advocacy to people with mental health conditions on a range of issues including housing, social care and access to services.
In addition, our skills in both instructed and non-instructed advocacy allows us to connect with and represent adults with very different needs and abilities. We are able to ensure they receive relevant information in a manner they can access and, where appropriate, signpost them to other services they require. |
